Yes...the Canadian Idol singer and winner has become the new face of Maybelline Make-up!

"It's extremely flattering," Avila told CTV's "eTalk." "I honestly never expected this. When I think about (where I was) a few months ago... this came as a really awesome surprise."

Avila will be the first Canadian to represent the brand. CONGRATS BABY GIRL!!!

When considering whether or not to take the new gig...Avila said..."I always thought, you know, don't limit do yourself to just one thing," she said. "I really think it's awesome that I can include fashion and beauty into my music career because, you know, I love that stuff. I'm a girl. It opens many doors and brings me to these awesome opportunities ...to be as versatile as possible."

Nelly Furtado Prepares To Host The 'Canadian' Juno Awards.

On Sunday, April 1st, Victoria, B.C. native, Nelly Furtado will be hosting the Juno Award's in Saskatoon, S.K.
Not only is this talented 'down-to-earth' girl hosting but, she is nominated for several awards, includding Artist of the Year and Best Song.



The show will be airing on the CTV Network @ 8:00p.m. EST.

Christina Aguilera Hits the High Notes in Toronto!

Last Night, Pop Diva & Queen of the "high notes" showcased her "Back to Basics Tour" in Toronto at the Air Canada Centre.




*Nicholas-Sean* attended the star studded show with the Pussycat Dolls as the opening act!
When the Pussycat dolls came out, they gave a shout out to Christina being a former Pussycat Doll herself. What suprised me the most was just how many Doll fans there were at the show. Afterwards, the thousands of Doll fans went to the "shop" to pick up Pussycat Doll 'gear' includding the infamous sweater with the lyrics, "Don't You Wish Your Girlfriend Was Hot Like Me?" on it.



When Christina came out, she opened the show with "Ain't No Other Man" in a sequined red sexy dress!!!
She also made note to talk about her mothers abusive relationship to her father during "Oh Mother", this made everyone cry.
The show really began when "Enter the Circus" played. I was amazed by a eye captivating circus act with flying trapeze's, fire acts and contortionists!
It got very 'sexual' during her performance of "Baby Jane" as she wore a burlesque outfit as stripper poles were strategically placed around the stage. After "Baby Jane" Xtina got X-Rated during her performance of "Dirty"!!!! She even rode a circus carasouel horse!!! haha
She must have been playing tribute to "Back in the Day" when she used to be a 'doll' lol
Anyway...she looked amazing in her sailor outfit for "Candy Man" and that definitely got the crowd going!

Although, I must say...I got really disappointed when she sang "Still Dirrty" and copied a Janet Jackson performance!!!
It felt like a carbon copy of Janets last concert. If any of you were fortunate enough to go to Janet's last concert she brought up a male audience member and seduced him on stage...anyway well Christina copied the stint! I was soo disappointed! I thought she was an "original girl"....anyway I still love her!

Well...I think everyone really cried when she belted out "Hurt"...
This is one of my favorite old songs remade! And Christina does a good job of it! Although it seemed randomly placed with "Lady Marmalade" right after...I felt like I was in a mental institution going from "SAD" to Happy and Dancing right after.

Well Christina hit her high notes during "Beautiful"...she showed her vocal strength and power...

When she sang my favourite song, "Fighter", it got everyone on their feet if they already weren't. It brought my mom to her feet and even she was clapping...it led to a great finale.

This week in DVD Releases we have Rocky Balboa, Eragon, Blood Diamond, and Everyone's Hero

We all know Rocky, this round he has a miraculous come back, surprise. Speaking of come backs Mike "i'll bite your ear off" Tyson is in the film

Eragon, is every little boy's dream realized- think about it, a boy and his dragon fighting the good fight.. Need I say more?

Next is Blood Diamond, the latest politically charged action/drama flic... and who better to lead the operation then Leonardo DiCaprio... This one should not be missed- It was nominated for 5 Academy Awards

Everyone's Hero follows the adventures of a young boy trying to recover Babe Ruth's stolen baseball bat... It's an animated flic featuring William H Macy, and Robin Williams... Best watched with age appropriate company

Hey guys!!!

I've managed to find the 'business centre' in the Bellagio to update you guys how things are going. Well, this trip is un-real.
Although there is much walking...it is well worth it.
Today we managed to see The Wynn, The Mirage & The Venetian.
At the Mirage I got to see the white tigers (Ziegfred & Roy) and the Dolphins! They were so cute and they were jumping in the water which, I managed to take a video of and will post when I return back to Toronto. The Wynn was absolutely beautiful. Perhaps the newest hotel in Las Vagas, it was also the most beautiful. With waterfalls and rain forests inside along with Chanel, Gucci & Prada, I was in 'awe'.
The Venetian was also very cool and very upscale! There was frickin a river inside the hotel which you could take a Gondalla ride through the hotel.

Tomorrow I plan on seeing MGM, New York New York and perhaps a couple others if I can walk it...since each hotel&casino is about three city blocks each.

I am also going to see the world famous "O" show by Cirque du Solei tomorrow nite, which I heard is absolutely amazing. Apparently the whole show revoles around water and in water. SO COOL!!!

Well. I will try and post at least one more blog before I leave but I must say...it's been two full day's and I am exhausted! To bad a massage at the Bellagio costs $300 for 1 hour and internet costs $1 a minute!
*wow they really know how to gip you on anything here!*
And for any gamblers out there! I won $100 on the $1 slots!!! So yay for me...perhaps tonight I'll play some 'craps'.

Anyway it's about 6:00p.m. here and I need to get ready for dinner then were off to the world famous "Freemont Street" where sometimes "fear factor" has shows!

Campbell Gets Dumpy

Yesturday, Naomi Campbell joined the ranks of Boy George and other celebrity shit disturbers, by taking out the trash. The now imfamous phone throwing incident has landed Campbell in a local Manhattan garage off of Pier 3. Campbell will spend the next four days serving her sentence for community service...

Maybe this time Campbell with think twice or else she'll get the book thrown at her!

Lindsay Lohan: Worried Criminal Father Will Crash Party!

Sources tell Us Magazine that Lindsay was concerned that her "newly released", criminal father, would try and crash a party she was at Thursday night in New York City. According to Us, Lohan even hired extra security guards just in case her crazy father appeared!
"I saw waitresses carrying two Grey Goose bottles away at about 12:20 a.m., so her table didn't appear to have tons of alcohol, but she was spotted pouring another bottle of vodka into a water bottle and sipping from that while smoking," a source told Usmagazine.com. Larry King OKAY After Surgery

Larry King underwent vascular surgery on 'le heart' on Friday and according to CNN, will be back on the air for 'Larry King Live' on Monday.
"Larry is doing great and he is excited to be back on the air Monday night with an interview with Sen. Barak Obama as we mark the fourth anniversary of the Iraq war," said a statement from CNN.

'Survivor' Survives Prison After Being Released

"We were all in a small room -- 52 people: child molesters, murderers, rapists and me," recalls Richard Hatch, Survivor's first million dollar winner.

After not paying the taxes on his million dollar winnings, Hatch told People magazine (March 26th issue) that, "Obviously, this is better than the county lockup. "There's no fence here. But people think I've come to a country club. It's not. This is prison. Just because it's got a beautiful view of the countryside doesn't make it a resort. And it's horrendous because I'm an innocent man in jail." - People Magazine

Hatch was locked in jail for 51 months at the Federal Correctional Institution in Morgantown, W.Va., a minimum security facility.

If you ask me...the dude 'won' this money on a television reality show...if survivor didn't tell him that after they handed over the million dollars he must pay taxes on it, how was he supposed to know?

Common now...let's get serious...is it really necessary for this dude to be in jail with murderers and rapists!?

Lane Garrison Accepts Responsibility & Will Plead Guilty!

Lane Garrison will be charged with vehicular manslaughter in the death of a 17-year-old Beverly Hills boy.
According to People.com, Harrison said, "I pray every day for all the families involved."
He added, "I realize I will live with a sense of guilt for the rest of my life."
His attorney told People that he "accepts responsibility".

Too bad this 27-year-old hottie from Texas could face up to six years and eight months in prison if convicted!

Perhaps celebs should just stop drinking and driving and hire a limo/driver with all the money they make!
Then maybe...just maybe...will they stop hitting/running people over with their cars for being intoxicated!

Anyway, I'd like to say, "MAD PROPS" to Lane...

Doesn’t look like Regis Philbin is going anywhere. With the most on camera hours in the biz, it shouldn’t come as any surprise. This morning on ABC’s Live With Regis & Kelly, co-host Kelly Ripa reported that Philbin made it through his triple-bypass surgery “ with flying colours.”

Yah…Understatement???

Philbin was up to his old tricks “joking around with nurses” and generally “harassing” folks like any good 75 year-old man should. Ripa even joked about her latest assignment as a nurse charged with sponge bathing Philbin.

While show producers have assembled co-hosts like Martin Short and Howie Mandel, die-hard fans can look forward to seeing Philbin back at the helm in five weeks time.

Jolie Expected in Vietnam Today to Adopt Boy

Jolie was expected to pick up her new "toy" late Wednesday night. The 3-year-old child was to be picked up by Jolie...but no confirmation has been made yet that she has the child in custody. After Jolie picks up her new boy, she must meet with U.S. Consular Officials, who must review the adoption papers before a passport can be issued for the boy...
Jeeze! I wish I could get a U.S. citizenship that fast!

Heather Mills joins "Dancing With the Stars"

Well yes...It's true...Heather Mills will be joining the "Dancing With the Stars" line up. Mills says it is not to gain public sympathy for her bitter divorce between her and McCartney. Mills, 38, and McCartney, 64 have a 3 year-old daughter who I call Beatrice "Milk".



Mills lost her leg in a 1993 motorcycle accident and she will be the first contestant with an artificial limb to perform. She said she joined the cast for her charity and not for media attention. Common now...do you really think we're that stupid Mills?
Anyway, she had this to say about her "fake leg"..."As much as everyone would love it to go flying, I'm sure it's not going to fall off" Mills Said. - Source: Associated Press
